ABOUT US
What makes the art scene in New York so special?
And why shouldn’t you be in sunny Barcelona instead?
We’ve been in New York for a long time: over 50 years, to be exact. We think it’s a special place, and one of the most important aspects is the people.
Our program puts your creativity to work with a fully immersive experience in New York City, through internships, individual advising, seminars, program events, and a capstone project.
New York City is our campus. We help you navigate it. You will be surrounded by arts, culture, and great food.
Faculty work one-on-one with students for customized placements in film & media, literature & publishing, theatre & dance, and visual art & art history. Students receive faculty guidance and mentoring throughout their semester. NYAP faculty are accomplished artists and experienced teachers, providing students with a mentor, a resource, and a role model all in one.
“Ease is the enemy of the artist. When things get too easy, you’re in trouble.”
- Chuck Close, NYAP Sponsor Alumnus

The best internship experience imaginable: hands-on, in the media capital, with professionals in the field. Many of the people I work with have been working for SNL for longer than I’ve been alive, which gives me access to knowledge and advice that will prove valuable for the rest of my professional career.

Fela Dosunmu
Speaking from the perspective of someone who has lived in NYC my whole life, the New York Arts Program opened doors for me. Working with music studios like Plug and Premier I was able to grasp a better understanding of the science behind recording not just the art. This was a beautiful introduction for me and with a great advisor like James Olson I was able to strive in the program.
