ADMISSIONS & COST

But can I kick it?
Yes you can (with our guidance).

 Application Process

Step 1: Undergraduate students must apply through their home college/university for approval to study at NYAP. This is separate from the NYAP application; approval processes vary from school to school. We recommend starting this process as early as possible.

Step 2: Students must complete the NYAP Application through our Acceptd Application Portal. The application will require the following information:

  • Resume

  • Transcript

  • Sample cover letter

  • 1 letter of recommendation

  • 3 work samples (students applying for the Studio Residency track will be asked to submit a 5-piece portfolio)

  • Short answer section

Step 3: After your NYAP application is submitted, our staff will reach out to confirm receipt of your materials.

Step 4: Depending on your application, you may be asked to schedule an interview with NYAP’s Executive Director after submitting your materials.

Step 5: An admission notification will be sent to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you are accepted, you will receive instructions on how to proceed with the enrollment process.

Step 6: Students must complete the following by the enrollment deadline to secure their spot in the program:

  • Submit a $300 Acceptance Fee

  • Submit a $300 Housing Deposit (refundable)

  • Sign and submit a Commitment Contract

  • Submit all required health/safety, housing and liability forms on the student portal

  • Receive approval to study at NYAP from your home college/university (undergraduate students only)

Step 7: Once you have completed the enrollment requirements listed above, you will be paired with a faculty advisor and can begin the internship placement process.

New York Arts Program is committed to helping our students grow as artists no matter where they come from, what they look like, or how they identify. We strive to make our program accessible to everyone by seeking out internship sponsors who come from diverse backgrounds and who have a far reaching, open and innovative approach to artistic practice.
