Your Safety
The New York Arts Program is committed to a safe and healthy educational environment and to the principle that people have a right to be free from all forms of sexual harassment, which includes sex- or gender-based harassment, discrimination, and/or violence.
The New York Arts Program follows all policies established by its managing college, Ohio Wesleyan University, which are defined on their website page.
Title IX and Sexual Harassment Policy
Non-Title IX, Sexual Misconduct Policy
Students enrolled in the New York Arts Program should direct any violation of this policy to Emilie Clark, Executive Director, who will help facilitate all the necessary actions.
The Clery Act requires colleges and universities that receive federal funding to disseminate a public annual security report (ASR) to employees and students every October 1st. This ASR must include statistics of campus crime for the preceding 3 calendar years, plus details about efforts taken to improve campus safety.
A report on the New York Arts Program campus is included in the Ohio Wesleyan University’s 2021 Annual Security & Fire Safety Report, 2020 Data.

New York Arts Program Public Safety and Security
It is important to us that NYAP students are healthy and feel safe and supported while in NYC. We have emergency protocols in place to make sure that we can communicate immediately with students when necessary.
Emergency Preparedness
New York Arts Program uses the 911Cellular emergency contact system to allow administrators & faculty to notify the campus community of urgent situations via simultaneous telephone, e-mail, and text messages.
How It Works
If there is an emergency—including severe weather warnings—the New York Arts Program will send a 911Cellular alert to your phone and/or email.
We suggest that all students sign up for Notify NYC. This will provide critical information and emergency text alerts on what is happening in the NYC area. Go to https://a858-nycnotify.nyc.gov/notifynyc/
