Mónica de la Torre, poet, translator and scholar, was born and raised in Mexico City. She came to New York on a Fulbright and ended up staying, eventually getting an MFA and PhD in Spanish literature at Columbia University. Published works include Public Domain, Talk Shows and most recently The Happy End/All Welcome, in 2018. Senior editor at BOMB Magazine from 2007–2016, professor of the Practice of Literary Arts at Brown University from 2016-2019, and is now the Madelon Leventhal Rand Endowed Chair in Literature English at Brooklyn College.
